    Hello all -

    I live in Hudson Massachusetts. This morning I visited our dog pound
    to confirm that the dog officer has a basenji in his custody.

    Female, red/white, sweet disposition, looks to be well fed. I have a
    photo... email me & I'll send it to you. As far as I know, the pound
    does not scan the dogs it brings in.

    I'm trying to spread the word. Someone must be missing this sweet girl!

    @melduff I for one think this is FANTASTIC news! You guys are so lucky! You have a one of kind super dog with the papers to prove it. Walks around the neighborhood and trips to the dog park are going to be very much fun... Friendly neighbor: Oh, she's so cute! What kind of dog is she? You: Thanks you so much.     @fjd89 Always good to do health testing.... Don't know about how hip testing is done overseas. You would need to check with your local Vets.

    My Basenji Billy is quite undershot; he's a purebred, his bottom jaw just didn't stop growing when it was supposed to. That's okay, I'm a bit of a sucker for a dog with an underbite anyway.:) He was my first rescue Basenji.

    Filas are classified as Dangerous Dogs in the UK. Obviously a case of nurture not nature.

    Corky's sometimes uncurls when he's sleeping and sometimes when he is comfortable. I can always tell if he's really OK with someone. If his tail is uncurled, they're OK by Corky!
