My boyfriend and I decided to get a rescue pup a few weeks ago, and we picked up a little boy. We are almost certain he is Basenji mixed with chihuahua, but not 100% on it at the moment. (I want to get a doggy DNA test, he's not so keen on it..) Thought I would post on here, and maybe get some of your opinions on him? His name is Knox, and he's about 5 months old. Thank you!

I just peeked too, and she is precious, that's for sure!
They look like such angels when they are puppies that they really do look like babies. 🙂 It's that innocence that captures our hearts and will later make us question our insanity, lol.

if you go onto the http://www.offa.org website you should be able to see the status of Cheyenne's sire and dam and hopefuly the pups too.
You could also ask the breeder if the pups have been tested but the reccomendation is to check yourself as well on the ofa site.

I will be looking into it. I am at work so I will have to check when I am out of work.. got the site saved looking to get all the info I can before she comes home.

Thanks! I am trying to get ahold of the people I got her from but I lost their phone number…. She was from a farm way up north. They said the dad had wondered over to their house, and they don't know who's dog it was. The son saw it I guess and said it looked like a small pitbull, but I don't think he knew for sure. I really think she's 1/2 basenji.

Hi Kiro,

Welcome our neck of the woods. I live just a bit past Emmittsburg in PA so I'm not too far. The Mid-Atlantic Basenji Club meets at the Carroll County Agricultural Center right there in Westminster. Our next meeting is 1 June and there will also be a spring fun match that same day. It starts at 0900. There is a Yahoo group for the club that has info about the event. It's fun and games. It's really neat to see so many basenjis in one place. Hope you can make it. It's a nice club to belong to.
