    Help…. we are in search of a female basenji puppy for my mom. Yes she has had one and here ex got it in the divorce years ago. She loved her very much and now agter years b on her own would like another. We would like to be able to meet tje breeders if possible versus having one shipped in. She just wants a pet. No showing or anything like that. Thank you

    @Buddys-Pal Keep in mind that there was no Fanconi test in '05. The linkage test came out in '07.... HOWEVER, there is no reason to ever again produce Fanconi in Basenjis... There is a direct DNA test and as Buddys-Pal pointed out, look for the test results yourself, they are public at www.offa.org

    Yes i have been very interested for a long time. Iv been in contact with a Breeder from England for a while now and they are expecting a summer litter. While iv been speaking to the breeder i feel comfortable that she will be more than helpful and is willing to all of the above. Like you said the price was the last thing on your mind, this goes for me too. I was just wondering along the lines so i could save to buy my puppy. Thanks for the help :)

    You may want to follow the link to her website and contact her from there. She checks in on the forums frequently but a direct email or phone call will get you a faster response.

Until they are a bit older, I can't tell if it will be boys or girls available… but there should be at least 1 girl and 1 boy available.     Yes, if you want a rescue basenji you really need to be on top of it every day. They go fast, and unfortunately not always to educated homes. The effort is well worth it, though, both in getting a wonderful pup (who may need to work through some issues so you can both be reminded he's wonderful) and in the satisfaction of giving a basenji who's been misunderstood a wonerful forever home. Hang in there. Your pup will find you.
