    Help…. we are in search of a female basenji puppy for my mom. Yes she has had one and here ex got it in the divorce years ago. She loved her very much and now agter years b on her own would like another. We would like to be able to meet tje breeders if possible versus having one shipped in. She just wants a pet. No showing or anything like that. Thank you

    @liz-falzone Not sure if you are one of the 60 or so would-be Basenji puppy purchasers who has emailed me privately - PC is in the hospital and I am working on my laptop so can't access the list. But that alone does tell you a great deal ! I haven't bred a litter for 12 years now but am still getting enquiries - current breeders are also inundated. We have been weeding through enquirers, putting many people off this challenging breed if they should perhaps look elsewhere, and filling lists of known 2020 winter breeders. Many have been accepting visitors and establishing a relationship. And have closed lists. But breeders this winter seem to be holding their cards close to their chests, Rescues have been rehomed and Breed Clubs don't have many intended pairings listed. I may be able to help but need to know a great deal more about you - location, knowledge of the breed, children, working from home etc. My email addresses are on the websites listed in my signature bloc

    Hello, go to www.basenji.org and search for breeders... by state and there are some from Canada... you are most likely looking at possible breedings for fall/winter of 2020. Note however it is IMPORTANT that you go to a responsible breeder so registration papers are important as many BYB's use other types of registrations that are not registered by AKC or the Canadian Kennel club and you need to follow up on health testing youself... if they are doing responsible health testing before breeding the results are public at www.ofa.org.     @godzilla: after losing kenta back in feb. i've been looking for a brindle also he died from blastomcosis ) the lady i got him from says he was a rare one but i grew up with a black and white and got another he has such a attitude and i love him the rodent if you happen to find more than one let me know PLEASE If you are looking for a brindle boy… shoot me a message at bennyburnerbono at aol dot com.     Yes i have been very interested for a long time. Iv been in contact with a Breeder from England for a while now and they are expecting a summer litter. While iv been speaking to the breeder i feel comfortable that she will be more than helpful and is willing to all of the above. Like you said the price was the last thing on your mind, this goes for me too. I was just wondering along the lines so i could save to buy my puppy. Thanks for the help :)
