Need to find a good home! (but listed as free) She is AKC registered. She has been spayed but no mention of vaccines or DNA Fanconi test. The tan does not look clear on her face so she could be a trindle.
Spiro is located 18 miles Southwest of Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

I sent a note to BRATs OK coordinator, apparently BRAT has quite a few craigslist postings from Spiro, OK.
That area is/was a hotbed for B breeders especially Keota and Stigler OK, just West of Spiro. There are/were several USDA licensed breeders in that area who bred Bs. I met some of them at the dog auctions. I think most of these breeders no longer breed Bs. There were also some Bs in a shelter near Spiro, a year or so ago perhaps longer. At least this girl is spayed so the breeders would not want her!
If you look in the Pedigree Database, there are a number of dogs with Keota in their name. Most of these go back to the WL kennel or other Bs the Choates of Tahlequah OK and others bought at the auctions. The Choates got out of the breeding business several years later and sold their dogs at a couple of auctions. I saw some of these dogs at the auctions.

This one has a happy ending. I had a friend in OK looking for a playmate for her 3 yr old neutered boy. She picked the girl up today and reports that they are getting along great.
What great news! I am glad she was picked up by someone familiar with Bs. Any idea who the breeder was?

No, it was a person who also owned a rat terrier, and the two of them got into a scuffle over a copperhead. As the rattie was their snake killer, the basenji got to find a new home. I will send her the link.
