Wow! this is one of many, many threads that I have responded to and I am very interested in the outcome of Poopydog and the nipping. As I was going through the Thread, I really had to bypass any of the responses of those who enjoy attacking one another. I sure hope this behavior did not thwart our member who really needed help. The majority are replies to one another trying to impart important knowledge or experience to someone who did not ask for it in the first place. Don't try to sound important. Everyone is, just give happy good-hearted advice and let us just not dig into the other who has a different opinion. Just dig, digs, and more digs. Really getting old….........................I know you won't miss me, but this is just too much.................................................................
Nipping

I just wanted to post an update on our nipping issue with Dexi as I appreciate all the helpful info that everyone gives. We have hired a trainer, not only for nipping issues but just general obedience. She is certified and has basenji experience from working in NYC. On another note our girl seems to be listening better and not nipping as much, and I don't allow chasing games with my son. We had a big crowd for Easter and she loved it. So friendly to everyone, adults and kids, well behaved too. She knows her name and listens to commands come Dexi and sit. We are working on stay.

That sounds very positive. I think you are on the right track!

Improvements are happening. Good for you guys for putting in the work!

Awesome. I'm glad to hear things are getting better.

Good for you! Things will continue to progress if you keep being gentle but firm with her. Once you son and the puppy learn the rules it sounds like it will be a wonderful match.

I agree. She is such a friendly little gal.
