Hi, I have a 5 month Basenji need to rehoming to a good family. She is about 12 bls , healthy, playfull and very intelligent dog. This dog belongs to my niece and she just went to college last 2 week. I broght her home with my other dog, but I think my dog seems so sad when she arrived. She always takes advange on him and sometimes bossing him as well. She is independing dog,but when you're around she wants attention. I think she is good to a famify without dog so you can give her more attention. Small adoption will apply. Believe me it is hard to let her goes. Only Serious Inquiries Please. Thanks

  • Is it my eyes, or does she look like a mix? And is 12 lbs. at 5 months normal? I did find an interesting weight chart at http://www.belpatt.fr/dogs-puppies-weight-curve.php

  • Looks like a Boston Terrier x Chihuahua mix to me.

  • Did you check out the other pics on the posting?

I am glad this boy is going to BRAT! I hope he is still socialized even after being kenneled that long. I do not understand why non specific breed rescues take in dogs and then leave them kenneled for months! I understand temporary kenneling until one can find a foster home but for months. I have read about this happening too many times and I did not realize how often this occurs. I monitor the Urgent Part 2-Urgent Death Row Dogs Facebook page which monitors the NYCACC shelters and I have seen dogs posted on its site where a dog has been rescued from the shelter and then sits in a kennel for months. I know people want to save dogs but it is expensive for kenneling and this is how rescues become hoarders! There is also an all breed rescue group in IN that solicits funds to pay for boarding. Patty, I am so very sorry. Zeba was lucky to have had the life she did with you. This is such a tragic accident, the nightmare we all dread. Hugs to you, you were her hero, you saved her from a dreadful life and gave her a wonderful one.

Hopefully Dixie will find a great home soon. As much as this must have hurt her first human, better to handle it sensibly rather than an emergency trip to the pound and all the pain that would have caused both of them. My sympathy to the first owner, if you see her again. And an "atta girl" for facing a bad situation head-on and dealing with it.
