• Oberlin, Ohio is having LGRA next month which would probably be closer to you. The track this weekend is one of my favorites as it is nice and shady for everyone. Saturdays are normally practice runs after the races if you basenji would like to try a short run. Straight track is 220 Yds straight, but you can do a shorter distance for a practice.

  • Actually Oberline is about 100 miles further Well, she does like to run.

  • Hey - I'm planning on going to Oberlin! It's just about 30 minutes from where I live. If anyone from the forum is going, lemme know - I'd like to meet you & your Bs! I can't wait to get Trinity's AKC PAL/ILP papers so she can rip it up!

  • Wish I could come Lisa! Just can't get the time off work and money to go. I missed seeing you up our way over the holiday, phooey! Well hopefully we'll get a chance to visit at the national. I plan on coming for the coursing day at least.

RVL, I'm hopefully going to Oberlin, we'll have to see how time/money is. Would love to visit!

  • we will only be doing AKC LC at the nationals as Xander just needs that last major, then we're coming back to AR for LC to hopefully put more points on the whippet. Oberlin is a really long drive, but we hope to make it next month. The little RV is a big money saver now that we don't have to find hotels we can afford a few more events. We will be up in Racine next month for ASFA with the 2 boys hope there are a few more basenjis to run with. Xander should finish at that one as he is just lacking 4 pts and Trog is already an ASFA fch.

  • Lisa,
I assume this event is open to the public? We've never been to one before, is there anything you would suggest I bring (other than the obvious)?
    Thanks

  • Here is the info from the club, if you dog has never raced before I'd recommend trying the practice runs they do Sat after the event, most likely 1-2 will be the end time. Your dog must be able to come out of a starting box with a muzzle and not interfer with others, so practice runs are a good idea. I will be doing practice runs on my whippets as they have a fear of the noisy box.

Good deal! If I don't catch you there, I will def. see you in KY!

    Sounds like a plan! 🙂

  • Good luck in Racine Lisa! There should be a couple others running up there. Looking forward to hearing about Xander's new title, and excited to meet our little "cousin" soon! I would have been up in Metamora, but was asked to go to a show instead.

  • Lewisville was beautiful weather and great running dogs. I had the bookends both days. Xander was first and Trog the turtle. 6 dogs running. I may have to go to Ft. Hood TX over the week that Oberlin happens, trying to get out of the trip so I can race instead.

  • Congrats Lisa! Who else was there? Hopefully I'll see everyone in Oberlin.

  • Just Terry and Jan and Andy there with us. The usual running crew:)
Having some issues with computers. Not sure if the website is able to be easily updated. Here are the picasa web album links until I can verify for those who would like to visit.

Not so many good Senji shots as its hard to take potos and box dogs. Tend to get more going away shots and we all know what the view from the rear is like 🙂

Haha! You had lots of good shots to see. Looks like a lot of fun! I'm excited about Oberlin - I hope the weather is good!

  • Ah, that's what I figured. 🙂 I can't wait to see my Jada-cakes again. Was that her practicing? Did she behave? lol

I sure miss the crew, hopefully we'll all get together soon!

  • Jada enjoyed lots of practice runs with all the other dogs and was very good, it looks like she is getting over some of her muzzle issues. Still the fastest dog out there. The OBs will be fun.

  • Yay, good girl. 🙂 Was that Ari in the pictures getting ready to do a face plant? lol Looking forward to meeting him too this fall.
