    Hi everyone. I wanted to let all know that we really were touched by the replies after we lost our boy, Destro. We still miss him, He will always be remembered as a part of our family. My daughter was so lost without Destro. She took it so hard. I knew that a basenji was the only dog for her. It seems that an angel was looking out for our family. A guy from Ky saw our story about our loss and contacted our family. He had a 5 yr old red and white female that he had to get a new home for. We made arrangements to drive there and meet with him and Keepers. It was love at first site for my daughter. We brought her home with us that day. She is just the thing that my daughter needed, well our family needed. She is just great. And I am so grateful to our angel Dave for letting us become the new family for Keepers.

    @elbrant That's how all my 8-some learned to catch. If food dropped on the floor - you lost it ! So they all stood on their hind legs and it was like feeding a nest of fledgling sparrows. A gentle toss of the treat and someone caught it !

    Hi @2baroos , the vet has checked for a UTI and she is healthy. I have tried thunder jackets with her and she tears it off with assistance from her companion. I'm afraid she will certainly remove anything we put on her, especially diapers. We're trying to discourage her from peeing in the crate at all. She used to sleep in a cardboard box that she loved and started to completely destroy it once the anxiety started, now she shreds her bedding and pees on it. I know how this must be really upsetting to her and am trying my best to take care of her.

    @Rita: Pat yes we did get Jaycee's AKC application at the time we got her. Have not got cert back yet as we were really slow in her name made us slow in mailing. Rita Jean Great, it would be good if you gave Sally W the information for her website to update the pedigrees. Many of us rely heavily on the pedigree site when thinking about breeding and researching dogs…. You can do contact Sally at Zande Basenjis (just do a seach for her website and drop her an email with the info)....
