    Yep i'm in Elpaso i have only been here for a few mths still gettting used to the area I have heard of Las Cruces but haven't been there as of yet. I don't know if i'm allowed to write my Yahoo address in here or not so we can chat .

    Does anyone know if that's agaist the rules ?

    Are you on my space? if you look up I think if you search my name Rachel in conjuction with Las Cruces on my space, you should be able to find me. My Pic is of a yellow dog…my non basenji dog. What I am writing is within the rules right? because I didn't put my e-mail or telephone. I would put a direct link but I am not sure if there is too much personal info on my profile? Anyways Rachel, Las Cruces, my profile pic is of a longhaired yellow dog curled up in a chair.

    Ah ok cool thanks, I had something like that when Safi was smaller and it was the most successful for sure. She outgrew it quite quickly though

    I can't listen to that, it would wake my girl up and well... I'm not into a "sing along" just now. ;) I will say that many canines howl and yodel and bay (at the moon, whenever a fire truck passes, etc.). I'm not certain that any one breed is distinctive enough to have a sound all their own, but many a proud owner would probably assert so.

    We use ones from Rukka. Not sure if they’re available everywhere but they are they best ones we have tried (others always fell off, especially in deep snow). I think having two Velcro closures on each sock has been key. I also prefer the soft shell ones as our B seems to accept them more and they don’t twist as much as the ones with a hard sole.     My undergraduate degree was in geophysics with a minor in applied math. I name all my Basenjis after Indian mathematicians. My current Basenjis are Madhava of Sangamagrama (Madhava for short) and Bramagupta (Bramagupta for short). They do respond to their "short" names.
