Tiggy and the Annapolis Bay *LMAO*

Basenji Talk
  • Took the boys to the dog park in Annapolis today, and then down to the dog beach. Even though its cooler, I wanted to see what Tiggy thought of the water and sand. Reggie loves it so I know he would enjoy it.

So we go down there and there is a lady playing with her, throwing a tennis ball into the water for her. Well I took the chance and let Tiggy off the leach since there is only one exit and the brush surrounding it is VERY dense. Well the lady threw the ball the lab dove in and well….. so did Tiggy. OMG I about fell down in the sand laughing so hard. Tiggy dove about five feet in and realized he was in the water, so then he jump STRAIGHT up in the air, fell back into the water and tried to keep each foot out of the water, then he bounded back to me. Stopped next to me and gave the water the dirtiest look he could muster.

After that he'd go about to his ankles but no deeper, and looked at Reggie and the lab like they were crazy for getting in the water, Reggie only goes chest deep.

The look of complete shock on his face was absolutely priceless. I think even Reggie and the lab where laughing at him.

  • Very funny, poor little Tiggy, I can just imagine the look on his face.

    Anne in Tampa

  • I can just see that now, what a laugh I know you had. That was a Kodak moment, haha!!!!

  • That's just way to funny!!! It's priceless!!! :D :D :D

  • I can just see it – must have been priceless :D :D :D :D

  • lol how cute. haha i can imagine him springing up outta the water hahaha

  • Haha! That's so funny!!

Last saturday I threw the Kong and my sheltie-mix followed.. she looked at the Kong.. running.. looking at the Kong.. and: she fell in the pond!! She hadn't seen it I guess.. She only had eye for her Kong..

After I knew everything was ok with her.. I couldn't stop laughing! The look on her face when she came out of the water.. (the Kong never reached the water btw)

I believe just as priceless as the look on Tiggy's face :D

  • WBL - Sounds like fun. I didn't know there was a dog park or a dog beach in Annapolis. Where are they? I live just over the MD-PA line, go to the dentist in Annapolis and camp on Fort Meade, which is not too far from Annapolis, when the weather is nice.

@Tayda_Lenny said in Your Experience at Wag Hotels in SF Bay Area?: Hi imbj, Where in the Bay area are you? We live in Foster City with a male brindle B, and we are looking for someone who can look after him when we are out of town. Would you recommend the person that watched yours? Michelle I haven't done this yet and my friend was just doing me a favor so she asked her brother. At this time, it's more of a peace of mind for me should I ever need someone to doggy sit my Cosmo.

EL D likes to watch but only when dogs, wolves, birds and meerkats are on. The really funny thing, though, he'll watch the reflection in the stereo cabinet (if you young pups don't know what that is you'll have to do some research :)) instead of the TV directly. So here he is lying half off the chair or with his head hanging over the arm, staring at the stereo cabinet. And every now and then he'll get up and go looking behind the cabinet to see if he can find the creature. :D

My BIL (a "Lab" only guy) just said when they came to visit a week ago, "Darn, I think this dog is growing on me!" Another beast tamed.

@Ninabeana26: Some people just really don't know how to read their dogs & think that their dog would never cause trouble. Then when they do the human doesn't know how to respond, thus making it worse usually. I'm glad everything was okay & your boys still had a great day at the park :) I also am a big supporter of dog parks but it's smart to be cautious when taking your pup because you really just cannot predict how other people's dogs are going to react. Thats also why I usually only take them when I know its going to be quieter with less dogs, you add more dogs then you can add possibility of more issues. I have worked with Reggie everyday since i brought him home, and I can tell just by the look in his eyes, or his body language to how he's going to react to a situation
