    I just got the call that little Eli took Winner's Dog and Best of Opposite Sex down in Louisiana this morning! Hopefully we'll have pictures soon to post.

    His handler (my ex-husband) texted me yesterday to say that Eli took Reserve…..sounds great until you know that only one other dog was entered LOL....guess he was trying to break it to me gently. They said the Open Dog was very nice, so Congrats if he belongs to anyone on here. Friday and Saturday there weren't any other dogs entered. All in all, they said he did really well for his first set of shows. He wasn't a bit scared or upset and he apparently made lots of new friends and showed very well.

    I have to admit that although I'm really excited he did well, I'm just a little disappointed that I didn't get to see him get his first point. ;) I'm glad he had a good weekend but I sure miss my boy and will be happy when he gets home tomorrow!

    In the US, for AKC Championship your dog needs a total of 15 points with 2 major wins. Points go from 1 to 5pts, with 3,4 and 5 being considered major point wins. Points are assigned by groups of areas or large states, such as California is one area. Here is a link to AKC with the detailed explanation http://www.akc.org/events/conformation/counting_points.cfm

    @tanza: Great video… she looks good and typically "puppy"...gggg One pointer for you, when trying to move her front legs on the table, move from the elbow instead of mid/lower leg... she is less likely to pull it away from you.... Thanks for that! Will try that next time :D And yes the breed ring was tiny, and Maya (when she actually gets going) has such a long stride and trots out quite fast so it wasnt ideal. But better than being out in the rain :) Thanks for all the nice comments.

    LOL, Bryan. I suppose it comes from all those years of my mom telling me, and me telling my kids, that it's not polite to brag! LOL BUT, I really do have a Wall of Jazz in my family room that has a bulletin board with all her ribbons, and the three show 8x10's next to it. So, maybe that's my subtle way of bragging to everyone that enters the room…?
