  • He's very cute-I love his little ears!!

  • His is from Mantassi kennels from Queensland Australia. It's a fair few hours away from here but we still plan to go back to them for our bitch. Can't wait!!

  • G'day Mate!!

Hope all is well in your part of the Land Down Under…

I'd welcome you to the site, but I've been here less time than you have!!

I'm from Cairns, and have a 9week old Basenji, that is so adorable.

I look forward to chatting to you and other Aussies for long time to come.. and if you do know about Lure coursing in Australia, I'd love to hear about it..

even if Little Rafiki is too young at the moment, I'd love to get into a sport we could do together!!

    Welcome,

    Gwawleyboy.

  • I have a friend in America who lure courses and their pup is named Rafiki too. I'm sure yours will be a little champion too! I'm looking forward to getting to know more Aussies (and everyone else of course!)…but I haven't met many Senji owners in person yet.

My brother lived there for a number of years and took my parents there on holiday. They had a wonderful time and I've heard there's a brilliant B. breeder there too.

  • a security pup!!! all the best - basenji's are the best!

  • He is super cute. I love Australia I honeymooned there. Still have lots more to see.

Thanks for the reassurance Krunzer! no doubt there will be lots of differences between Ben and a basenji puppy.. i cant wait! i think im expecting the worst, and hoping for the best :) and my little experience with friends basenjis will help im sure. the first time i tried to handle a basenji was a disaster, he knew straight away i wasnt confident and walked ALL over me!! the second time He wasn't so lucky ;) i got the upper hand, and he showed beautifully for me. we reach an understanding then :)

@Nemo: Hey Moth. I hope you and Watson are able to join some of the BCOSW activities in the future. Unfortunately the one we had today was rained out :( but we have some more planned in the near future. What part of Wisconsin are you in? I'm up by Green Bay. Clay Hi Nemo. We are in Madison. Going to events sounds like fun :)

A tired Basenji?!!! Joking apart, I agree with the previous posts. It is really important that she doesn't get something for nothing as Wizard advises make her work for it. Welcome to the Forum to you,Teagan and the others.

Thanks, I will pickup some SAM-E at the store today, I had no idea what dose! I hope Pete has a comfortable time with you, you are doing everything to keep him happy. My friend's mastif-dobie mix has very high liver enzymes, she is 10 and otherwise looks great. She is slowing down, sleeps a lot but has good appetite, etc., he opted for no more tests (at her age, he would not put her through any treatments other than meds). She loved the liver-cleansing diet, is back on regular now and taking Sam-e; like you, he is just hoping for some good quality time with an older beloved dog. Hugs to Pete!

Luzambo, I too had one pass last March. After that I was left with one and said once he passed, I was going to be done with dogs – too much of work and emotional strain. Yep, I was going to be free to... well, to do something. Then I found a little girl related to Brie just 2 weeks later and 6 months later I have yet another. Yes, they're a lot of work at times, but so is most everything in life. I love having them around and the house would be often boring otherwise. I'm sure Pharaoh and my Brie are hanging out in their private club looking down on us saying "what are you guys doing down there?" And with a signature like yours, I don't think you'll be waiting long. Welcome to the forum!
