I gave up on beds in crates long ago. Now I buy thick fleece blankets and they do rip them a bit but they are still useable. My boys are adults though. When they were pups my red boy made a few beds explode.

These blankets are from Walmart and were recommended by my breeder. $5 for a twin blanket and they are surprisingly comfy.
If your girl is eating the beds/blankies as she shreads that's a different issue and I'd be hesitant to use anything.

@Rita:

What about memory foam on one of those heated pads that should make the hips better all warm. Soft so don't hurt hips and heat make it nice kind a extra.

the memory foam beds are pretty thick, i'm not sure the heat would go through from underneath. but they do make heated inserts for beds - that may work.

and by all means, i'm sure your "pup" would enjoy it. some are like memory foam chips, i'm not sure how that would be. BUT if you want a nice thick foam bed (not memory foam) and your dog isn't distructive, you can go to the craft/fabric/upholstry store and buy some really thick foam. I've done this for an insert in a bed

Yep, he did both and did quite well. And yeah, I would definitely take him to the race meets and let him have a little fun. I have seen quite a few dogs in their teens enjoying a romp on the field. 🙂

I don't know what lure coursing is in your area, but I do know there are races in MN, sounds like they're not too far from you? And race meets are usually a lot more accomodating as far as practices.

Booger & I play hide & seek. I throw a toy; he goes to fetch it while I hide. He drops the toy where I threw it from & then goes to look for me. Nothing can distract him until he has found me, but we don't play as much as we once did because he got too smart for the limited number of hiding places my little brain can think up.

hahaha jazzy is a bed hog! she looks sooooo peaceful. they have a great knack for finding the softest place to lay.
