    Way back in 2006, there was a discussion here started by WestCoastFlea about a breeder here in the Houston area who was "getting out of Basenjis" because her HOA would only allow 3 dogs and there was a long sad story about how she got her original B's from her daughter, etc, etc, etc. The breeder's name was Mary Beth Weiss.

    Well, guess what! Apparently she didn't get out, (SURPRISE!) as she just e-mailed me asking about stud service or purchasing a breeding female since she's 'retiring in a few years and interested in getting into showing or lure coursing'. Her boy and girl are 1/2 brother and sister, so she doesn't want to breed them together. I e-mailed her back asking for registered names and health testing and suggested she ask the breeder of her dogs, hee-hee. We'll see if I hear anything back, though I really don't expect to….

    No surprise there as there has been a few craiglist posts from this person with Basenjis to place…ie: FOR SALE! I don't think she ever stopped breeding.

    Terry, Yes that's correct. She is one of the pups from Charro's trip to Sweden. I'm so happy that I got her, she's a real sweetheart with a lovely temprement. This is something that she has past to her babies.

    Hope you have a good trip and he is all you are looking for AND passes all health-testing with flying colors! The spring puppies we are having in the next month [both litters no less!] were the ones we'd planned for Fall 2009. So I moved up my 2010 breedings to Fall 2009… now the girls all need to cooperate with my plans!

    Well got some batteries for my pedipaws and showed Kaiser held it against his leg turned it on, held it against his nail turned it on said good boy and put it away. Later in the day had a go at using it for real with treat rewards since he had reacted so well, no problem always amazes me how calm he is. Went from toe to toe as they get hot and finished all of them. Do see it doesn't have much power but think it is a good start for me to use until I can get a Dremel and didn't take me as long as using clippers and then hand filing, so will use it weekly and take a little off each time. Cost me NZ$11.50 including postage but not including battery cost, so wasn't too bothered if it didn't suit. Happy me, happy basenji. Jolanda and Kaiser
