Have you considered the use of dog anti-chew spray on your furniture or personal belongings? Of course, the spray needs to be all-natural, no chemicals and with no side-effects. Is there anyone who has made use of these type of sprays to protect your furniture from being chewed and damaged by the Basenji? I have read that Trixie Knabber Stop Spray is a good product.

@tanza: There is a play date in the East Bay…. and they have lots of Basenjis... you just have to get past the initial meet/greet..... lots of noise... and just get used to it.... Hi Tanza, can you please advise where/when these plays take place in the East Bay? I've just moved in SF with my boy Basenji and we are looking for a company for our walks. Thanks in advance. Maria.

Forgot to mention that a potassium deficit might be involved. You can check by feeding banana or cucumber, both high on potassium. Cucumber is better, because less sugar and calories. Binti loves it.

We camp a lot with the dogs. We have two x-pens set up outside of the camper for the dogs with two camp chairs in there…..you know that they can't lay on the ground right?..... If we can't put up x-pens for some reason then we have two cables for them that are made of wire with the red nylon coating on them. Those work as well but the easily become tangled if they are too close to each other.

Dog parks are unpredictable because every time you go there's some different dogs that you don't know and what they'll do. Buddy is very friendly but the trouble is people throwing the ball for their dog and the dog gets aggressive when another goes after it or near it which sometimes Buddy does and he gets attacked.
