    With our race weekend cancelled due to a soggy field, we went ASFA coursing instead. L'Ox picked up both of his first placements and 32 points going BOB beating his half sister in Open and his mom in the BOB run both days. Kyo, Kinetic-Tanza Reaper Man, also got to see the lure for the first time and give it a try, http://youtu.be/kVQ4colkhDQ

    It was a nice weekend with the rain holding off until after the trial was finished. The dogs are all happily worn out and sprawled on various couches.

    :) Watching basenjis coursing really makes me smile. They truly love it. Congrats on the results.

    Darn those plastic bags! I remember last summer Kevin and Therese had to have a significant number of replacement bags on hand.

    @DebraDownSouth: Okay that is pretty funny! Glad the judge passed her. Hey, perhaps the judge appreciated the intelligence to go check something out then resume business? Thanks everyone. She had really lovely runs all weekend (except Sunday's Std run) and I'm so very, very proud of her. She went through a fear(?) period on courses towards the beginning of the year, so she's come a long way. And, DDS, no, agility judges do not appreciate creativity on course. If you don't believe me, ask Jet the trying. :D Of course I always thought maybe the judge watching Jet would think "Gosh, that really is a nicer course."

    My Basenjis have always loved radishes… I would start them young with them... just tossing them on the floor whole... they would roll and toss them around the floor and then finally biting into them... a couple of days of that, they were hooked... makes a great treat... but I did make sure they were a bit on the sweet side then the "hot" side

    My personal opinion is that if you don't set ground rules for both dogs, you will have a fight… each needs to respect the other and since Shango was there first, he should be greeted first... and Mowgli needs to learn to wait his turn. But first you will need to teach Mowgli some basic Obedience, like sit, down, stay.... You need to greet Shango first and have Mowgli wait.... if he buts in you need to put him back in a sit/stay until you are done with Shango and release Mowgli

    That was very nice for a first try. She will improve greatly as she becomes more seasoned. Beautiful little gal. You're doing well with her. Heck, just getting a Basenji to do all that is a triumph. I thought it was cute how she went around to greet the judges. Such a little ambassador.:D

    West Suburban Humane Society has a secure server for donations on their website. I don't know if there is a way you can mark that it is from Katie's Gotcha Day Fundraiser though.
