  • Hello,

I am a proud basenji mom to two BRAT rescues. The ever adorable Kiya (in my avatar) and the obnoxious yet still lovable Sam. I'm fairly new to basenji ownership. My husband and I adopted Kiya last September. We were considering adding a 2nd basenji to our family in January when BRAT contacted us about needing a foster home for a young male. We ended up adopting that young guy and are now a 2 basenji (and 1 cat) household. We live in sunny Tolleson, Arizona and the B's approve of the dry, hot climate. I think they like it a lot more than the humans do.

I remember doing many searches on the web looking for a basenji board so I'm very glad that there is one now. Thank you for all the effort in getting this off the ground.

    Karen

@gretchen - You might want to reconsider if you can't find exactly what you are looking for... go for the younger adult... IMO...

Thank you thank you for the great advice and direction toward OFFA! I actually researched that information somewhat before I went to visit, then asked to make sure what was on the site was true from Kyle and Steve's mouths! Everything checked out so far with them–no health issues whatsoever :) So exciting! Blah, this will be the longest 4 months of my life, methinks!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome words at the Forum! I was very inspirit by my friend Steve, and think about my new puppy basenji. Although I read that basenjii is not for everybody dog, and it may be challenging however I seriously want to find my own Besenjii friend and to give him the name Kovu in honor of my friend's dog. Thanks again for your warm words! Boris

Trailer park to city! LOL big time. I think they might actually think such things:p There's not another breed I'd rather play second fiddle to. Welcome and enjoy your very debonair B.
