    Hi everyone! I am from Eugene, Or. About 2 1/2 years ago, a young female basenji showed up at my front door. She had no collar, no chip and was in heat. I didn't know what kind of dog she was. I fell in love with her. I posted on Craig's List - Lost and Found and put an ad in the paper too. No one claimed her and are we ever happy about that! Except the cats still don't like her much. She is a constant challenge and she is getting us very well trained. I am lucky enough to be able to take her to a day care where she is on the move the whole time she is there. She is exceptionally friendly and curious and very entertaining.

    @abonnard Pee pads got me through in the end, she would pee every 20 mins for the first months, then 40 mins, then she suddenly went to being able to hold it for many hours. One of the best purchases I got before she arrived was a small carpet washer, saved my sanity. The cleanup is so key otherwise they go back to the same spot.
