Found Male In North Texas, near Fort Worth

Lost and Found Basenjis
  • I'm still getting info on this, but I have someone who has found a fixed, microchipped male Basenji near Fort Worth Texas. Attempts to contact the owner have been unsuccessful. Ball is now rolling with BRAT. This is obviously someone's loved furbaby, spread the word. :D

You have to go to your picture and set it for public, or simply post it here.

There should be a way to verify ownership and/or vets office via the rabies tag/number. Jennifer

@sharronhurlbut: Dan, this owner didn't do ANYTHING but give this basenji to a teenage boy. I mean COME ON!!!!!! What teen has time to take a dog to gentle classes? The basenji lived in that house for 9 yrs, biting folks when they pushed him too far. So, this dog got nothing, and when the kid left, the owner gave him away. Why, cause she didn't want to live with him and passed this damaged dog on. Its a shame that the folks she gave this boy to didn't sue her. I wish they would! Sigh. Sorry, I am so darn angry about this. Sorry for the rant. I hate lose/lose I completely understand Sharron. :(

I heard back from the finder this morning. She says his face looks like Basenji, but his tail is long and straight, not curled. So she thinks he might be a mix. Anyway, she is going to take him in to the vet to check for a microchip, and will hold on to him for the rest of the week. If he isn't claimed, she says she will contact BRAT. Terry
