A friend of ours talked to the woman with the 7 month old female today. The original owner was older, got her from a shelter (as a Jack Russell) and she was just too much energy. The current 'foster' took her to help the original owner, but she has several other dogs, the basenji has already escaped once. She has chickens, etc., and her husband wants her re-homed soon. I saw a (poor quality) photo and she looks pure basenji but has one drop-tipped ear and barks occasionally, she is intact still. No one I know is up for a youngster like this, but we are asking around. If anyone out there is interested,I'll help with transport.
Medfly Basenji Rescue

Is this a legitimate basenji rescue? It's located in California. Other than CBR and BRAT, does anyone know of any other basenji rescue orginizations?
-
Yes, it's legit… I think Nobarkus got Buddy over there and I think he knows them well and may be able to provide you with more info...

I'm finding basenjis on petfinder.com that are from Medfly and when I visit their site, there's no record of the basenji(s) having ever been listed.

Most likely they have not had time to update their site, they are legit and a great rescue source. And they most likely get better results (more response) from petfinder.com

Yes, they are as I got my current Basenji there last year. They just don't get around to updating their site because they're so busy. You have to email Karen Jones and she will let you know what's current.
