    Alright, so my friend is moving to Chicago and can't keep her pet Penelope anymore as her swanky apt wont allow pets. I volunteered to watch Penelope the Chihuahua until we can find her a good loving home. I was super worried that Roxy would eat her…Turns out, Roxy LOVES her and wants to share EVERYTHING with her...Penelope, not so much. Bit her 3 times and won't stop growling at her...I dont know what to do. Roxy is now TERRIFIED to go near her and keeps looking at me like "Mom...I want it out!"...I feel bad but on the other hand this poor dog is homeless! ANY IDEAS?!:confused:

    @melduff I for one think this is FANTASTIC news! You guys are so lucky! You have a one of kind super dog with the papers to prove it. Walks around the neighborhood and trips to the dog park are going to be very much fun... Friendly neighbor: Oh, she's so cute! What kind of dog is she? You: Thanks you so much.     I think ideally you have a yard, but of course also take the dog for walks. Having to go out immediately when you get up can be a nuisance and every Basenji I have had will "go pee" in the backyard, although getting them to defecate can be a different matter. And rainy days can be a problem. Yes, you can keep a Basenji in an apartment, but bear in mind if you have an issue with separation anxiety your neighbours may not be happy when you go out!

    @ktiefen1 You would be correct!! Potty Training eventually came easy because ours is so treat motivated....lol. Basic obedience is a challenge for us......ahe is definitely her own girl....and please dont disturb her sleep. You could lose a limb. ::)))))

    I have found that if I take my B to doggie daycare (even if it's only for half a day), she is ehausted when I bring her home. She will let me do the dishes without any basenji help! She also tends to treat our doggie friends a little nicer when they come around. Having a worn out basenji is deifinitely worth the $15!!
