    Alright, so my friend is moving to Chicago and can't keep her pet Penelope anymore as her swanky apt wont allow pets. I volunteered to watch Penelope the Chihuahua until we can find her a good loving home. I was super worried that Roxy would eat her…Turns out, Roxy LOVES her and wants to share EVERYTHING with her...Penelope, not so much. Bit her 3 times and won't stop growling at her...I dont know what to do. Roxy is now TERRIFIED to go near her and keeps looking at me like "Mom...I want it out!"...I feel bad but on the other hand this poor dog is homeless! ANY IDEAS?!:confused:

    Gosh, I'm usually scared of Chihuahuas! Seriously, they are in great demand, hopefully you can find her a good home soon.

    If you pay attention, there may be some subtleties that might give you a clue. Dogs pay close attention to body language. He may see the Collies as a threat because of something not easily noticeable, and perhaps he is generalizing if one of them has given him bad vibes and the others look similar enough for him to consider them a threat. My boy really didn't like small white fluffy dogs, I have no idea why....but perhaps because many were noisy and wanted to get in his face.

    Oh Barklessdog, you are a brave person. I must now stand with you in insane-solidarity and admit I bought it too. It is awful but when you get the line "we couldn't say goodbye so we took him home" part, you know you got to help support the woman. lol

    My Basenji Billy is quite undershot; he's a purebred, his bottom jaw just didn't stop growing when it was supposed to. That's okay, I'm a bit of a sucker for a dog with an underbite anyway.:) He was my first rescue Basenji.

    I have found that if I take my B to doggie daycare (even if it's only for half a day), she is ehausted when I bring her home. She will let me do the dishes without any basenji help! She also tends to treat our doggie friends a little nicer when they come around. Having a worn out basenji is deifinitely worth the $15!!
