Sunken ship

Off Topic
  • (sorry for my English) This morning we were sailing over the Rhein (a big river) and we heard over the radio-phone a messege that a has ship sunk.
We passed them a few hours later.

The ship must have crashed at the side of the harbor and the back of the ship got a very big hole.
Water came into the ship and the captain tryed to sail the ship back into another little harbor.
At the beginning of the harbor he sunk.
Only the wheelhouse, a part of the loaded material and the front of the ship were still above water level.
(So thanks to the dept of the water he did not sunk totally)

From the news we know, all people (2) were saved
    I've got some pics:

I'm very happy nobody has died…

  • Wow, that is too bad. I feel so bad for the captain..glad they were saved.

@JENGOSMonkey I WAS THERE FOR '89! I was a kid, but I remember the water coming out of the swimming pool in huge waves and everything falling from the shelves! I was actually born in San Jose, but moved around a lot later LOL I hear the wildfires are more of a concern for you guys now? That's scarier than quakes for me...

I cannot imagine committing to buy a puppy without seeing the animal and if possible the sire and dam. OTOH, a rescue (or adoption of an older dog) is a different thing. My last two Basenjis came to me sight unseen, and turned out to be wonderful dogs, but the breeders I got them from wanted to place their dogs in an experienced Basenji home, and I only paid the cost of getting the dogs to me. One came by air, one was personally transported to me by his breeder. If she hadn't been happy with what she found I expect she would have taken him back with her when she left. I also had to commit to return him if ever I couldn't keep him. Good breeders care about where their dogs end up.

@kembe - Very True Kembe, here is a link on looking for a responsible breeder. https://bconc.org/finding-breeders-red-flags There are many scammers out there, don't fall for one.. or a person that is not a responsible breeder.
