I found a thread at one point and checked it out. That is just what I do. I like collecting as much info as possible. So here is the link to the site:

What is occuring is that a variety of individuals are developing a company by trying to collect shipping money ($150) per puppy sold. They state that they are in Affrica or on a mission and can't care for the animals. I have pasted some of the responces that I got from my inquirey. (As a side note, Please do not attack me for checking them out. I am educated and understand when and when not to buy or adopt a basenji. I say this to avoid any criticizm but rather this post is to provide information to those who are unaware.)

Okay, hit me on the head here, duh. Are there actually puppies? Or is it a gimmick just to get $150 out of someone? Sorry for sounding so ignorant, though I myself would never get interested in someone offering this. It sounds shady.

There are no actual puppies. This site was discussed before because the people with "listings" have actually stolen photos from other sites to use.

Thanks so much for confirming what I thought. How miserable these individuals must be. Of course there would be tons of people looking to help a dog in a bad situation. This forum is a godsend. It is all about education! Learn first so you don't make mistakes down the road.

I had the same thing happen with pictures of our puppies. Can't remember which site but was very disturbed to see pictures of our puppies saying they were being offered 'FREE". Didn't know how to go about getting them deleted and also picture only was used, not any other information.
