    I need to know if there are anymore shots that have to be given to my B's. They have both had their shots when they were puppies but now I'm wondering if they need anymore. Can anyone help?

    Do you take her to a vet? What is required by law where you live? What does the vet recommend? I usually start from there - see what they recommend and then do research into what are the pros and cons. In Maine, 3yr rabies is required…beyond that I only do distemper.

    And you can search the forum for lots of information about shots and what is or is not needed.
    But as stated by renaultf1, rabies is a state required shot. Dogs get one as a puppy and then need another at 1 yr. After that it depends on your state, most are every 3yrs., but some (and some counties within a state) are every year

    @Rebel - Full blood workup including full Thyroid panel (full panel no just what the normal vet workup that is not a full thyroid panel)... as they say make sure that he is in good health. Also what are you feeding him? How much total are you feeding a day? Also with reducing food, add veggies to his food to fill his belly... green beans are good to use... I use Cauliflower and Broccoli... Note also that low normal is typically too low for Basenjis.

    @eeeefarm: I believe Benin is in West Africa. Rabies is endemic in Africa. Yes, I thought you must live outside the U.S. We at The Rabies Challenge Fund believe that all healthy dogs and cats should be vaccinated against rabies.

    Well Champ only had to get a cortizon shot the first time he developed allergies and now if we see him itching or biting his paws we give him a pill but honestly only had to do it twice (the pills). Good luck with your babies.
