It does sound like you have a lot on your plate right now. Much like a marriage, it really is easier to call the whole thing off before rather than after. I'm sure you'll have a puppy that fits into your life sometime in the future. All the best to you.
I did ask the shelter about Daisy (at least she has a name now), she is 26 pounds and about 4 years old, I didn't learn much else other than she doesn't have much time.

Is there anyone who could see this B Mix to determine if she is actually a B or perhaps a Shiba Inu? It is not a good picture as it appears that it was taken when she was in a truck cage/kennel. This shelter used to have a reputation of not being very good. Here is her Petfinder website:
