    Thank you Ivoss. Very interesting especially the second article. I notice that the patches were described as brindle. Our early Basenjis in the UK did produce some offspring that had a lot of white (culled, I'm afraidf) but not as much as Congo's. I wonder if she was a pure Basenji? I note that she came from Liberia - the black and whites from there were, as you know, accepted as Basenjis.

    I have a USA line in some of my dogs. One of these lines goes back to Congo, hence my interest!

    Congo was not the only early import that was described as brindle, Binza Of Laughing Brook out of the Sudan is also described as brindle and had the call name Tiger. His only descendants come down from one son M'Bunga who was red/white.

    I actually saw Tiger when he was in quarantine here all those years ago. Politics in the breed caused Veronica to send him to Michael Hughes Hall in Rhodesia. There are quite a few descendants here from the litter he sired but the majority of his puppies mouths were not good so VTW told me. I assume that this has showed up in his descendants from time to time.

    Azenda Which (Margaret Christy Davis) was a fairly early descendant and the Zizunga (Irene Terry) line was partially based on this bitch. Jethard Cidevant who was a Crufts Supreme Champion also carries a line back to Tiger. Many of these people here who had such descendants were ironically some of the main movers opposing the acceptance of Brindle into our KC Standard!!!! Isn't it ironic?!

    @tanza I don't believe there was a limit to the number of letters, though I wasn't paying much attention to whether the field stopped me from continuing. Tanza is nice! I was actually surprised no one has claimed the name :D

If someone sees a statement (like that) about them and decides to contact an attorney, you and I aren't the ones who would be going to court. @JENGOSMonkey Thank you for your two cents (I liked the image, too). You are right. Most of what I do as a "moderator" is banning people who create profiles for commercial websites to improve their Google rank. I feel like if I kick them off right away, they won't bother us with inappropriate posts. I have banned over 2,000 profiles (so far), looks like I have 3 or 4 more to tend to today.

    @tanza I'm definitely attending the next show as a recon trip. Not sure how the work here but if they're similarly easy to enter as the ones in the US, I do want to show Roux! LOL that's a hilarious saying; I absolutely appreciate a smart lady over cluelessness haha :face_with_tongue:

    @zande - So true Zande, the test is 65.00 and considering the heartbreak and cost of caring for a Fanconi Basenji (try shoving down 20+ pills a day) it is something that anyone breeding, even Back Yard Breeders or Puppymills should always do... Also if someone happens to get a puppy or is unsure about the breeder they did get a Basenji puppy from, spend the 65.00 and have the DNA Fanconi test done... again it is a cheek swab that you order from OFA.org

    @lindenbaum I've long forgotten about this thread. If I am remembering correctly, I left it up so that people could read the flags that it may be a puppy mill and be able to make their own decision regarding that. I am deliberately wording that as "... may be... " because I do not have any personal interaction with "HH" and therefore cannot speak to it. (please note that I removed your "HH available breeds" list, no offense)
