I live in AL, not near Abbeville, but I've got friends/family all over. I'll post it on Facebook and email an Alabama pet lost/found group that was established after the April 27th tornados.
FOUND - Female Basenji in Minnesota
-
Found November 30th, 2009 in Sartell, Minnesota - Female, approx 6 months. Black, Orange and white, wearing a purple collar with no tags. Adorable! She is hanging out with my 3 Italian Greyhounds.

She is so pretty. Have you found her home yet?

No, I can't believe no one has called to claim her. I have called the City of Sartell and Humane Society. I left flyers with the local schools and plan to drop off more tonight at a few places. She is beautiful. Someone must be looking for her. She does not have the microchip ID and was not wearing tags. She was in front of my house Monday morning and was very hungry and thirsty so I think she was out all night. I am wondering if someone was in the area for Thanksgiving and lost her while they were here… I am praying she is reunited with her owners ASAP.

Bless you for taking her in and caring for her that is really kind.

Oh, bless you for taking her in..She is so pretty..
I can't believe she hasn't been claimed yet..Have you tried posting her or looking for her owner on craigslist? I see a lot of people post their lost dogs, down here in Houston, on craigslist, either way I wish you both luck in finding her home.. -
I've sent an email to a group of basenji breeders in MN to see if they know of any missing dogs.
-
It's going to be posted on the BBR list too. Also, I've been told there is a puppy mill in St Cloud nearby that has basenjis. So, she might be from there too.

You can always contact my breeder here in MN as she is linked with rescue. She is in North Branch. Her site is http://sonbar.homestead.com/
If I didn't already have my hands full with 2 bs right now I will definintely have taken her on. Thank you so much for contacting us!

Sal (sonbar basenjis) is one of the people I emailed. So she would be familiar with the situation if you contacted her.

Houndmom, I'm sure that if someone is looking for her, they already notified the HS and other shelters in the area or will soon. I wish I could take her if her family doesn't find or want her back. It just hasn't been the same without Dot in our life. Keep those IGs safe! I'm glad you found the forum. From Alicia in Ohio
