I saw an ad on Petfinder for a 5 y.o. female basenji being housed by Geisler's Precious Pets of Burgettstown, PA, which is in western PA near the WV and Ohio borders. They want $275 for the adoption. She was rescued from a puppy mill.
I want my house filled with Basenjis no one wants. I love my girls so much and they have come out of their misery from being so mistreated. Makes me so sad to see so many Basenjis that need homes.
Advertised as an African dog! Owners did not know what type of dog they were buying. This is near Amish country-only 25 miles away from Lancaster and I wonder if they bought her from a local breeder. Has anyone contacted them to find out any additional information like registration, breeder, etc.?

Usually if the owners say a dog is housetrained to the shelter but then the dog messes in the kennel, the shelter will sometimes either state partially housetrained or unknown. Many times, rescues who helps with the dogs from the shelter will state that the dog keeps the kennel clean and goes immediately outside when walked so they assume the dog is housetrained.
I hope they were adopted together!

@DebraDownSouth:
Oh dear, I'd take her if she were close! I was pining for Nelly a mix on BRAT site but someone else is coming to see her so. :(
Where are you in GA? I'm in Blairsville.
@wizard:
Yes - the same. She and Luny get along fairly well (they've had their tiffs already) and I've noticed she does like chasing. I'll look into lure coursing for both of them later this year after the weather warms up.
LOL… no surprise there (having tiffs...).... other then that, has having her around helped with Luny?
