    Hi @Vesna, it’s interesting you say that about the spay. Our tri-color actually just got spayed this week and her coat shed before that. I noticed small amount of black hair growing in where she shed, hopefully it grows back. What phase is your tri-color at? Did this just happen?

    I can't listen to that, it would wake my girl up and well... I'm not into a "sing along" just now. ;) I will say that many canines howl and yodel and bay (at the moon, whenever a fire truck passes, etc.). I'm not certain that any one breed is distinctive enough to have a sound all their own, but many a proud owner would probably assert so.

    My undergraduate degree was in geophysics with a minor in applied math. I name all my Basenjis after Indian mathematicians. My current Basenjis are Madhava of Sangamagrama (Madhava for short) and Bramagupta (Bramagupta for short). They do respond to their "short" names.

    Make sure you use a good cleaner to get rid of the pee/poo smells. I think often we think its clean, but the dogs can still smell the area, and think, ok, this is where I go…We had an issue with a b peeing on the bed. Using an cleaner that breaks up the "matter" was heaven sent to us.

    I think you need to go back to house training 101…. just like if they were pups... and it is an adjustment.... My question is however... what was he like in the foster home? How did they do with house training... or more like what did they do about house training...?

    I'm glad they are both home safe…but I was chuckling when you described them as standing guard and escaping...I could definately relate! Our little guy walks the perimeter of the room (including the exercise pen we have to close off the living room from the kitchen and dining room)...when he walks and sniffs the perimeter we joke that he's planning his next escape and is just looking for weaknesses in the perimeter. LOL
