Hello from San Diego

  • Hi. I’ve had Basenjoy since 1988 when we got our first from Edgien’s Basenji in Ohio. Since then we’ve had four more. One from Texas and three from Arizona. Actually we’ve had nine more if you count the litter we had this year. Four girls and a boy. Fairly uneventful other than the fact the semen was from a long dead male.

Our interest is mostly in the more recent African imports, mostly because of concerns with genetic diversity. Definitely not show people. We have done some lure coursing though, given our location, the time commitment is significant, making that difficult.

Looking forward to learning more about our little beasts and sharing whatever insights we can.

@WriggleysMom: We've always had rescues and I feel like I've missed out on puppy antics, so I'm debating. Toby doesn't baroo or wag his tail and I really miss being met at the door with a welcome baroo and a tail trying to wag itself off!! I had a puppy and was getting the urge for another but now we have a 7-mo old foster and I can't take my eyes off her. I remembered I really did not miss that!
