So many times people post pictures and ask what folks on the forum think about their dogs. Often, the most convincing in appearance turn out disappointingly to not have any Basenji blood. When you think about it, there are not likely all that many crossbreds out there. Most people with an intact Basenji bitch are not looking to cover her with anything but a purebred male, and in North America generally females are spayed because most breeders require it for pet puppies. Bitches that are showing are even less likely to be bred to something outside the breed.

i've had this sweet girl for roughly 2 months and only recently realized she is almost full basenji. she's 8 or 9 months old, 20-25 lbs. i think she's mixed with terrier. her middle toes are almost joined at the bottom (they are technically fused but there is a little hair creating a visual separation). she also barks sometimes, but makes a lot of other weird vocalizations that i've never heard come from a dog before. i'm mostly just excited to have a dog psychological and behavioral profile that makes sense for her, lol.

Oh my goodness those crossed paws. What a cutie pie.
I see basenji in there, but of course without DNA unless you know the parents, can't be totally sure. I would love to hear the noises!
Glad you got her.
