  • Thank you, thank you , thank you, Ivoss:)

Next question…what is the 'Honor Roll' for Bitches and Studs? How do the dogs get there? Nominated? Voted in? Pups registered?

    Sorry, I'm such an iggy:o.

Stud dog and Brood bitch in the US are determined by the number of offspring that are AKC Champions. It is 4 for Bitches… and I forget how many for studs, 5?

  • Honor Roll is based on the number of Champion offspring produced. This year BCOA has also started a Performance Honor Roll based on the number of performance/companion titled offspring produced. I don't think that Sally has those designated in her database at this time.

    Performance Honor Roll - http://www.basenji.org/ClubDocs/Performance%20Stud%20Brood%20Tally.pdf
Brood Bitch Honor Roll - http://www.basenji.org/ClubDocs/2008%20BroodBitchHR.pdf
Stud Dog Honor Roll - http://www.basenji.org/ClubDocs/2008%20StudDogHR.pdf

  • Actually she does have Stud Dog Honor Roll (SDHR) and Brood Bitch Honor Roll (BBHR) designated in the database.

Oops…I see that I misread your post and were referring to the performance honor roll. ;)

  • And here is another link to titles

    From BCOA for Versatility Champions….

Of which I am a very proud breeder of a Versatility Champion... DC Tanza's Madini Almasi,CGC,FCH,RA,CD (received her "DC" and "RA" after)..... I did the showing for her Championship... both Ann and I did lure coursing (but lets face it, coursing is all about the dog only) and Ann of course did all the OB work....

I've tried bait and no bait in the ring. I think bait works better for Logan, but not for me. He likes it and responds to it well, but as a new handler it's a pain in the butt. I know what I'm expected to do. Doing it once in the ring is hard. I get caught up in the minute and then forget what I'm supposed to do the next. I once stacked Logan backwards on the table. D'oh! Logan is SUPER food driven and he knows if I have cookies in my pocket. That's all he'll pay attention to. Jumping on the handler is frowned upon. Yes, I know training and time will cure it. Not there yet. Too many hobbies. Showing, breeding, MGBs, stereos, astronomy, motorcycles, family, friends, travel, house, etc. I need more time.

@Roux I have to live with the dogs 24/7. The judge sees them for maybe 3 minutes. My preference tops his/hers !
