    I think Tanza is spot on. Not sure where you are, but the Basenji Nationals are in Tucson in November. Assuming it's possible, I can't think of a better way to find a good breeder than to attend.

There is also a link on how to "vet" breeders, question you should ask. https://www.basenji.org/learn/ScreeningBreeders.htm Also check out health testing yourself. You need to have the registration numbers and/or registration name and you can check at www.ofa.org Here is the link for questions to ask breeders.     Oh man, all I can say is this is so sad. :( I read previous messages and everything looked like the puppy, whether Fanconi and health tested or not, was going to be a forever addition to a (new) family. Maybe the puppy was pushed on someone, or maybe not enough was known about the breed. I just hope he can find his forever home through BRAT, which I would also say is the best choice in this situation.
