    If you check ASFA (www.asfa.org) and AKC (www.akc.org) you can find were trial are being held… also Lisa might chime in here and give you a PM to her Mom that lives in So. Cal and courses quite a lot.

    @Alien: Thinking outside the square. I see there are Grayhound races in your town. Maybe get in touch and see if they have a training facility you could access. Or a trainer may have a track at home you could use. Plan B, start a group:eek: yeah i got in contact with one of the local agility/dog sports group (TOADs). They dont run lure coursing and confirmed there wasnt a coursing group in Townsville. However, never thought of contacting the grayhound group so thats worth following up. Thanks for the idea :)

    No I will have a friend in town that weekend. After this weekend the next event our 4 B's will course is July 4th-5th in Calhoun, I believe it's ASFA. And then the Specialty in Lexington for sure.

    This coming weekend there is LGRA and NOTRA in Orange County. My mom has the information. I think there is also some racing in December in Orange County. Don't know what the show schedule looks like or if these conflict with any. I do know this time of year is the racing season in So Cal since the parks are available.

    Yay glad to see some more local interest! As far as training, there is a group called SONG (Sighthounds of North Georgia) that does informal practices once a month or so depending on man power & weather. These practices are a great way to introduce a new dog to the lure. However, for most dogs its an instinctual thing & they don't need much training. Lola & Callie both caught on to it their first time. I just let them both watch other dogs doing it first, then let them go & they did their thing.
