Hey everybody, may post video of pilot

Basenji Talk
  • i also understand my previous misownership of him, but hes much better and hes extremely healthy. he isnt as alpha as he was against my rottweiler.
my rottweiler is finally getting hip problems and pilot understands that and gives him space, so im pretty proud of him. were also going to get pilot fixed.
he still needs just a little work on house training. a mild hurricane hit our house and knocked our fence over which leads straight to a hill, which at the bottom is the highway. so he cant go outside the backyard. anyway id just thought i would let you know how he is doing and that youll finally get to see him.

@LSanders: Thanks for the suggestions everyone- Tana's really more of a pee-er than a chewer, so I was hoping for something vinyl-covered (or similar) that could be wiped off if he pees on it. Washing towels/blankets all the time is easier said than done because we're in a condo without our own washer/dryer, so I do laundry about 1-2 times a week at my parent's house. But, I think it's worth it to try a fleece blanket and hope it lasts awhile. Actually, Ruby went about a month when I first got her where she would pee (I tried wool blankets, towels, everything I could think of). Then I bought 2 cheap fleece throws at LLBean's factory store…and there ended the peeing. I was kind of amazed. Needless to say, everytime I go to the outlet now and they have some throws on the shelves, I stock up (range in price for $9.99 - $14). Not to mention the drying of fleece takes about a quarter of the time that blankets or towels do.
  • I may have solved the tissue issue…

I think our dogs are trying to tell us they are lacking fiber in their diet in some shape or form. Kleenex (new and used), Paper Towels, Toilet paper, greeting cards, books (especially ones human toddlers have nibbled on first), cardboard boxes… what are they? Part woodchuck?!
  • Warning…may be TMI....

I think it should. Cairo seems to have adjusted with his teeth. I have noticed in the last day or so that when he is playing with Caesar and biting that Caesar is screaming less and participating. I think Cairo is putting the chewing to other uses now that he is beginning to learn to not bite so hard. Cairo was eating the towels at the bottom of his kennel so I switched to a weird material cusion for the kennel from Petsmart (shiny gray crate cusion) and he hasnt unstuffed it yet.
