Hey that is my pillow!

Basenji Talk
  • I have been laid up in bed sick today. I got up to get some water and came back to Samantha making herself comfortable on my pillow. She is always on the hunt for a new warm spot :) All I have to do to get her to move is blow on her head. She hates that!

  • Haha…our boy Loki loves to steal our spots when we move, particularly with my husband. Pillows are his favorite, when the bed is made there are actually 5 on the bed including a body pillow, he'll climb on top of them all and rearrange them so that he can lay on 3 at once!

  • Yeah this story sounds about right. I think they just do it so that when you come back to bed your spot is still warm. They are just doing it for you!! Well in their minds anyways…..

  • Gee, she even has the remote close at hand (paw?) too! Actually, the picture looks familiar. I have an opportunistic boy who does the same thing!

Hi @Vesna, it’s interesting you say that about the spay. Our tri-color actually just got spayed this week and her coat shed before that. I noticed small amount of black hair growing in where she shed, hopefully it grows back. What phase is your tri-color at? Did this just happen?

Ah ok cool thanks, I had something like that when Safi was smaller and it was the most successful for sure. She outgrew it quite quickly though

We use ones from Rukka. Not sure if they’re available everywhere but they are they best ones we have tried (others always fell off, especially in deep snow). I think having two Velcro closures on each sock has been key. I also prefer the soft shell ones as our B seems to accept them more and they don’t twist as much as the ones with a hard sole. Here are the ones I am referring to: https://rukkapets.com/paw-wear/thermal-shoes-black

My undergraduate degree was in geophysics with a minor in applied math. I name all my Basenjis after Indian mathematicians. My current Basenjis are Madhava of Sangamagrama (Madhava for short) and Bramagupta (Bramagupta for short). They do respond to their "short" names.
