My Maggii would have loved to be an only dog, while she got along fine with all the others, you just knew that she had in the back of her mind that she would have loved being the "Queen B"… And we lost our elders, except for Kristii, I was worried that she would miss the others as she was never an only dog.. but surprise to me she did just fine, save the deep from the soul howl every now and again....

Benny was surrendered to us and is a bit timid at first, but once she warms up she will love you. She is very attentive to herself most of the time, but she is extremely treat motivated and takes them politely. Hi jagm -

Are you really sure you want puppies? Have you ever bred a litter before? It is truly more work than I would have ever thought, especially if you are doing all of the right things, as listed above by tanza & lvoss. Are you prepared to keep 6 or so puppies forever? I used to think to neuter & spay was cruel as well, but realistically, that's only a selfish notion.
Good luck in finding your boy a companion! I found one for my girl & that's the best thing I could have done for her, other than having her spayed.

That's Gunner. I contacted his people several weeks ago to inquire and he is not in a kill shelter. He's in a rescue program (not through BRAT) and he "does not need rescuing from a rescue". Just an FYI…
