    Hello we are new to Basenjiforums.com. We think we have a basenji terrier mix. His name is Spike and he definitely has the personality traits of a basenji. We rescued him in November from Craigslist and he was advertised as a different breed. Our baby is 10 months old, he has the prettiest blue eye and we love his shaggy coat despite the shedding. He is a very sweet playful dog with lots of energy. We will definitely check out all the different forums for tips and behavior management.

    Aggression is an all encompassing term. As pointed out above, there is quite a range! It is not unusual for Basenjis to be dog aggressive. Mine is, and I just avoid other dogs because I know his intentions are not good. Some are same sex aggressive and fine with members of the opposite sex, and some may just be making a statement when they are leashed. If you describe what you are seeing more specifically I am sure lots of people will have common experiences and possible training fixes to share. I would love to see some pictures of Tucker, and welcome to the forum!

    MacPack, where is Dogwood Park located? I haven't heard of it. I live in Orange Park and we have a fairly nice one here several miles from me. They too have a large pond and wooded area and plenty of seats, even a few hammocks for us humans. We have had a membership in the past; now we only go sometimes as a visitor.
