Need More Basenji's - Lure Coursing in Calhoun GA Thanksgiving Weekend

    Hey everyone, just putting this out there to get more interest in Basenji's lure coursing. I'm of course new to it, so I'm not an expert, but would be great to see more out there.

    Next weekend is an ASFA Region 7 event in Calhoun GA not too far out of Atlanta. (http://www.atlantawhippet.com/). I believe there is another event the first weekend in December too in Calhoun.

    I know of several already attending, but would be great to see more! :cool:

    I am pretty close to Turnersville, but I am in Philly, also drive to the shore in south jersey frequently. Would love to see my 10 month old running around with other basenjis. Let me know if you are ever interested in meeting up.

    We're thinking about having another lure coursing fundraiser in November. It was so much fun this last time. Here is the photo album from the photographer. Zoni - she's a natural, can't wait to run her for real. He's a bit of a goof (and looks like a kangaroo in the pic :) ). I was more thrilled to watch him run than Zoni.     As far as I can tell, there are only 3 clubs in TN that hold lure coursing events; Chattanooga Kennel Club, Maury County Kennel Club, and Nashville Kennel Club. You can get contact info for these clubs at www.asfa.org and www.akc.org. Chances are that your dog will enjoy lure coursing and it is indeed wonderful exercise. Only purebred, registered animals may participate in actual competition but most clubs are pretty friendly about allowing any dog to run in practices. My best wishes to you.
