Very cute pictures. I'm glad you posted these pictures. For some reason, I thought a Lowchen was a much bigger dog. Alfie is so adorable and of course Bandit is too. Bandit looks very young, wrinkles and all.

I know all about those sharp teeth, my husband and I were Sahara's chew toy for awhile. She is almost 9 mos. and has pretty much stopped that behavior, except when we are playing with her.

Same here too! I love that quote about feeling like the "walking wounded". That was funny. My hands used to hurt just looking at my feisty little baby toothed puppy. I can relate to that for the first couple months we had Duke. He is crossing his 9th month of life too. Not bad at biting anymore either, except for play. We worked on his biting habit for about a month in July/August. He's gotten the message about hurting me and playing nice. Ahhhh!

Some basenjis seem to have particular kinds of dogs they don't like. My Abbey is best friends with a rottweiller, a black lab, and a dalmation, but she hates golden retrievers! What do they go by, coat color?? She goes after anything that moves at the vet's though. My first basenji many years ago, Pumpkin, climbed trees to get after squirrels, and fences were no problem either.

You are so right about the good feeling you get when you wake up to those happy wagging tails. When my husband is deployed it really makes waking up in the morning bareable!

It is great when I get home from work too.

I dropped them off at a kennel today because we are going on a few days vacation before my husband deploys, we are leaving tomorrow but dropped them off today so we could get some running around done. It is so quiet sitting here right now without them. I don't think I could handle this house alone without the dogs!

My husband is in the Navy and is gone a lot. My fur babies really keep me company and I think they look forward to when he is gone so they can reclaim 3/4 of my bed! 😃

I miss my husband when he is gone but the kids really keep me company. Takes care of the lonliness doesn't it?

Bandit is 11 weeks this Wednesday 6th Sept.
When he turns around bearing his teeth and growling after being told off for being naughty, I point my finger at him saying a LOUD NO!!
He doesn't like it, puts his ears back and looks at me.

I have bought a clicker and will attempt to train him and my Lowchen "Alfie" together with liver treats. Wish me luck!! Angee
