@zande not too cold but he seems to have the shivers fir any little reason! I’m attributing it to getting used to the new environment, maybe being cold and just nervous.
His parents are both Starfyre’s Flit and Lighting Strike! I’m sure you are familiar but let me know if there’s any additional info I can share!

Planning on bringing home my first basenji later this month (!) and have started to prepare. I asked the breeder if she knew of any great vets, as I hear not every veterinarian understands how unique basenjis can be. That said, I was wondering if anyone knew of any veterinarians in the LA area that work well with basenjis? The recommendation she gave me is unfortunately not accepting new patients but if anyone has suggestions, that’s would be great!

I suppose it will boil down to the pup and what they might prefer - but the wire with more visibility seems like a way to go. I supposed i can always find crate covers as well to create a more “den” like atmosphere
@kembe Yes! It seemed great then I saw the price 
but it did come with a puppy divider to limit room and expand when they are a bit bigger, so maybe a good long-term investment
Hey All - Very likely bringing home a basenji soon! (My very first!)
I was looking for the perfect crate as I want something the pup will be comfortable in but also, something easily moveable for vet visits and suitable for crate training until I can get something more permanent for in home and use the crate separately for travel/vet anything else.
Anyway, I keep getting targeted ads (algorithm must be hearing me talk about puppies!) and came across one by Diggs. Not to sure if I can post links here but the create looks easy to dismantle and good for storing when I find something better but great to start out with. Wondered if any seasoned owners or breeders think this type of crate may be a bad or good idea?

Great! I'll PM you now. I saw the South Coast Basenji page as well and love how active the community is. I'm happy to see there are events and should I get a puppy this season, that there various meetups so I can make sure he/she can socialize well into and through adulthood. Thank you!

I've come across some breeders who don't do health testing, which I just kept pushing, assuming that was a red flag.
I figured I'd need to branch out a bit from just california as well and appreciate the tip!

My partner and I are currently looking to add a Basenji to our family! I’m hoping there are breeders in California beyond why I’ve been able to find? I’d love to be able to train (as much as one can!) and raise a little one from the very start. I’ve been in touch with a few breeders who have full waiting lists and pretty much have been told “not likely!”. This would be our very first basenji and we mutually agreed to do a deep dive into research and understand what comes. We’ve definitely mentally prepared and hopefully can make further preparations once we know we can bring one home. If anyone knows of anyone in the So Cal area, or in California at all, please let me know!
