OUR BASENJI DOG (PICTURED BELOW ON LEFT) RAN AWAY AROUND THE VICINITY OF 167th/WOLFE RD, ORLAND PARK. SHE HAS BROWN AND WHITE FUR WITH A CURLED TAIL AND IS ABOUT 18? TALL. SHE RESEMBLES A ?MINI? DEER AND/OR A FOX. SHE HAD DOG TAG WITH HER NAME "JET" ATTACHED TO COLLAR.

SHE IS HARD TO CATCH SO IT MAY TAKE A COUPLE OF PEOPLE TO CORNER HER. DO NOT CHASE HER AS THAT WILL ONLY MAKE HER RUN AWAY FURTHER.

OUR CHILDREN (AND HER PUPPY) ARE DEVASTATED. IF YOU HAVE INFORMATION, PLEASE CALL 516.353.5019.

    Location: 167th/Wolfe Rd, Orland Park

  • I received the following email from the owner:

I already notified BRAT as we had adopted Jet (and Baby) from them 10 days
    prior.

Unfortunately Jet was not chipped - I have since had Baby chipped.

    Thanks again.

    Keith

So, BRAT knows about this missing girl…. but I thought that all dogs were microchipped by BRAT before they are placed in new homes? Does anyone know if this dog is really microchipped, but the chip isn't registered yet... or is there no microchip planted?

  • First Basenji's

These are so sad… must be especially heartbreaking for a new adoption too.
Hoping for the best for all...
