Diet for urinary tract stones - anyone else?

    I had my guy, Ziggy, checked out by his vet for chronic diarrhea problems, and when his urine was tested, we discovered that there were crystals in his urine (precursors to bladder or kidney stones). She recommended feeding him Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Urinary SO Dry Dog Food, and he's been on it for about a week. The diarrhea problem is completely gone (yay!) - and I'm also finding that he's drinking a lot of water and peeing a lot.

    Anyone else feeding their B Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Urinary SO? If so, have you noticed a change in the output of urine?

    mmm Sounds Tasty. I cooked Cairo's food for the first few years, then moved him to a raw meat diet for a few years. We had a Dalmation who liked raw food, and though she mothered Cairo he would eat this food unusually fast to stop her from getting it first. But when she died, he went off the raw meat so I resummed cooking it up. These days I find he prefers cooked food and eats more of it than with the raw stuff. But it never seemed to do him any harm so good luck with finding a diet that your B likes.

    I have never had a problem with boys after being neutered… but since it has only been a week and 1/2 could be that he is still healing.... But again, I have never had that problem. If it continues I would certainly talk to your Vet..,
