    Mica just moved to Wisconsin and the trip from Texas to Wisconsin was a long trip but Mica travels very well. She was allowed into LaQuinta as well as Big-8 hotels. She is a little sight-seer and knows the words "bird" and looks all over when they fly around in the sky through the car windows. She also looks at the scenery. Than she was taught how to give the "hi-5" for a treat at her beginning dog lessons and while traveling, she decided to take it upon herself to "hi-5" her mom for a treat. (she gets the treat, too) Now is that a thinking animal or what?

    Hi @Vesna, it’s interesting you say that about the spay. Our tri-color actually just got spayed this week and her coat shed before that. I noticed small amount of black hair growing in where she shed, hopefully it grows back. What phase is your tri-color at? Did this just happen?

    I can't listen to that, it would wake my girl up and well... I'm not into a "sing along" just now. ;) I will say that many canines howl and yodel and bay (at the moon, whenever a fire truck passes, etc.). I'm not certain that any one breed is distinctive enough to have a sound all their own, but many a proud owner would probably assert so.

    My undergraduate degree was in geophysics with a minor in applied math. I name all my Basenjis after Indian mathematicians. My current Basenjis are Madhava of Sangamagrama (Madhava for short) and Bramagupta (Bramagupta for short). They do respond to their "short" names.
