Congo 2010

Basenji Talk
  • @JazzysMom:

I'm Jumoke's fan on FB, and have been waiting… but haven't seen anything posted on this trip. I don't tweet, so for those that do please post updates!

This is so exciting ~~ I got both of my B's from Bryan and Laurie, and am a Jumoke fan. It's so cool to see them on this adventure!

    N/M – I see it now...

  • @AJs:

It all seems very interesting to me…until I got to the ridiculous "carbon offset" nonsense. Just another tax. That's all it is.

I hope the trip is successful.

+1…I agree re: the purchase of carbon offsets.

Ah yeah though the site that I saw clearly had a picture of a Basenji representing the breed! Your link, they look nothing like Bs

Hi @Vesna, it’s interesting you say that about the spay. Our tri-color actually just got spayed this week and her coat shed before that. I noticed small amount of black hair growing in where she shed, hopefully it grows back. What phase is your tri-color at? Did this just happen?

Ah ok cool thanks, I had something like that when Safi was smaller and it was the most successful for sure. She outgrew it quite quickly though

We use ones from Rukka. Not sure if they’re available everywhere but they are they best ones we have tried (others always fell off, especially in deep snow). I think having two Velcro closures on each sock has been key. I also prefer the soft shell ones as our B seems to accept them more and they don’t twist as much as the ones with a hard sole. Here are the ones I am referring to: https://rukkapets.com/paw-wear/thermal-shoes-black

My undergraduate degree was in geophysics with a minor in applied math. I name all my Basenjis after Indian mathematicians. My current Basenjis are Madhava of Sangamagrama (Madhava for short) and Bramagupta (Bramagupta for short). They do respond to their "short" names.

I am use to Mountain lions around here but usually they keep there distance and most people don't get to see them. I was very surprised because we were not that far from civilization and this one seemed very bold. I was very proud of my dog because usually he wants to chase everything. That is why I get off the beaten path a bit so he can run around on not be on a leash. Congo is my smart pooch!
