Tegus is a 2 year old male basenji. He was just surrendered. He needs a foster home ASAP. He is not neutered yet. He's better with female dogs and has been introduced to cats. 313-645-4399

BRAT has been notified.

Oh good, hopefully Bryson will have a good home, I had been talking to Eddie and nicky about a roommate but they were not receptive!

Too bad about the female. I do understand that shelters do not have unlimited resources, especially for difficult or unhealthy dogs, but it is still sad. As you said, good news and sad news. You are so special for trying to save all the basenjis, posting notices, etc. Many kudos for you!

The cities that I knew that the breeders were located are Spiro, Stigler, and Keota OK. Lisa Akins is in Spiro. Sheila Maxwell is in Keota. I met someone at an auction that was from Stigler.

Hopefully Dixie will find a great home soon. As much as this must have hurt her first human, better to handle it sensibly rather than an emergency trip to the pound and all the pain that would have caused both of them. My sympathy to the first owner, if you see her again. And an "atta girl" for facing a bad situation head-on and dealing with it.
