    I'll just add this in case the testing doesnt give you answers. Anorexia exits. Although nearly ALL cases of dogs who do not want food has an underlying medical cause. But some dogs simply have anorexia. There are drugs that work very good for it..At one point they stopped making one type so we had so we had to switch. They increased Sayblees aggression.     I ordered a test kit for Nemo since he was having what looked like a bad case of inflammatory bowel disease. I had suspicions of some food intolerances and I was going to trial this test to see if it came back with results which were consistent with what I observed. For instance he has always had issues with chicken so I was curious if it would indicate an intolerance. Unfortunately the full panel wasn't available until February and I got the test kit at a point where he was too ill for the test to be of any real use, so I never used it. So, I will be curious to see if it is worth the expense in the future. As much of a pain as food issues are, it would be worth the money for me if it actually works.

    +1. I've heard a few people I know have trouble with the spray. I bought the gel originally and while the kids don't love it, they tolerate it just fine. I'll stick with the gel - I've used it successfully for almost a year now.

    Typically I have also advised those with dogs that 'appear' to have fanconi but are not basenjis or are mixes - to also have their vet fax the labs to Steve Gontos - he seems to have a handle on the chemistry of the disease in general that is helpful to those no B people

    My Nika's eye got cloudy to the point of flicking your finger at it got no response then the eye turned blood red. Went to the eye vet and it turns out the lens inside the eye slipped. I had to give her other eye these very expensive eye drops called Xalatan or Travatan that kept the pressure down and the pupil small but even then the lens was moving around a little.

    Hey Terry! I'm excited to know Jojo is coming home on Sunday!! Can't wait to meet her. I take Hollie to Callahan Drive Animal Hospital off I-75 North in Knoxville. I have seen two vets there. Dr. James Hilla, DVM is the head vet/owner and Dr Alisha Harbin. They were both thorough with the exam(s) and clearly communicated things to me. They treated me and Hollie exactly like I wanted us to be treated. I too, had been searching for the right vet(s). I think I have found them!!! They also seem to have basenji expereince. They commented on how calm Hollie was to be a basenji mix.
