Been away for a while but … here I am again !
I'm living in Belgium, close to the Dutch border, but instead of buying one of these beautiful Hurtta coats
(Tillo, you look gorgeous in it !!) I bought one, also very beautiful, for Bendji in Canada. :o
The Great White North Winter Coat (size 16S for Bendji) came from "Chilly Dogs" :
So if you:
- like their collection;
- need it fast;
- and don't want to bother Janneke (although I'm convinced that she will love to help you);
it may be a solution to keep your baby warm …
To all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Belgium !:)
yep yep!! long live the forums!!!!!!!!!!
We had a really spectacular weekend, Janneke and Job were amazing hosts and I know Lycia and Tilo are gonna have some special months together. It helps with the separation knowing she will be well loved
Hey there !
Happy to hear that everything went perfectly last weekend !
As promised, I was in "stand-by" just in case there were problems.;)
I'm convinced Lycia will have a great time with her new friend and wonderfull Janneke and Job; in a few weeks we have a great show with the Basenji Club of the Netherlands so Lycia can meet Bendji too !
Greetz from Belgium !
Mmmm, I wonder if home made food is an option ?
Just a thought …
It's quite easy to adjust the ratio of the ingredients as desired ...
Bendji is doing great on pure natural (fresh chicken + whole rice + seaweed + lecithine + eggshell powder + bio yeast flakes + fresh grated carrots and parsley + Megacutan [a special blend of poly-unsaturated fatty acids from Orthophar, a Belgian pharmaceutical company]. In 45 min I prepare his food for +20 days ! At minimum cost and … it's healthy because you know exactly what's in it !:)
Stockholm is beautiful! I read in a tourist guide that it is one of the nicest cities in Europe.. Now have I only been to Amsterdam, Paris and London (nothing beats London btw ;)) but I think it is definitely a city worth visiting!
I did hear that if you've ever been to Norway… Sweden isn't that beautiful anymore............... That's why we first went to Sweden and will probably go to Norway in 2010 or 2011 (we also want to visit Scotland next year... yes.. we have something with countries to which it is hard to bring a dog )
WHAT'S WRONG WITH BELGIUM JANNEKE ????:D:D:D
Great country for doggies !!!;)
Serious now : I contacted Lycia's Mom; I'll be glad to join you all when you plan to meet ok ! I'll promised her to stay "stand-by" in case …
Great series from Het Leesten ! Seems to be a Canon-Nikon challenge hahaha ! Job did a great job !!:D
Hope to meet you soon again with Kim and the family !
I like the collars - I don't see that type in the USA.
About Bendji's collar :
I bought them (I have 5 ;-)) from Char Harding from "Around The Hounds" in Canada. She has an enourmous collection of extremely well crafted and super beautiful collars but be aware !!!
It's very difficult to make your choice hahaha (that's why I have 5 of them) !:D:D
Great pics Walter!! I love Tillo's ballet.. ggg.. and this one is my favorite:
Just two very happy faces
You can definitely see on all the pics that Tillo was looking for some rest and Bendji just didn't have a stop.. haha.. Bendji was a real tank.. ggg.. Poor Tillo..
And this was a bitch in heat..
Don't know exactly why her owners thought it was a good idea to bring her.. She had a lot of boys around her..
NO WONDER !!!!:D:D:D
In all modesty : I'm quite satisfied with the results of my first steps in the dslr world …
First attempts with the new camera … and of course some comments ...:D
Wadda'ya think Tillo, shall we play with him ?
Wait, I'll give it a try …
Mmmm, that's interesting too …;)
Hey Tillo, when they call us PLAY DEAF ok ?
C'mon lets play !
The EYE !!!
Stay put Tillo, I'll jump OVER you !!
Bendji you are crazy !!!
Oh Tillo you're my best buddy !
Mommy !!! HELP ME !!!
Full throttle …
At last a little rest …
Oh no …
Here we go again !!!
Ok Bendji ! Good boy !!
Let's take another victim …
Beautiful Tillo !
My favorites …
As you all can see, despite all the traffic jams and me and Bendji being 1 1/2 hrs late we had a great afternoon !!
It is a way for non-registered dogs that appear purebred to participate in AKC events. The dog must have pictures and a statement from a vet that it is Spay/neutered.
Here is some info on the program.
Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privilege
Giving all purebred dogs a chance to compete
Note: A fee of $10 was instituted, effective January 1, 2003, for Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privilege transfers or duplicate certificates. For more information contact PAL@akc.org.
The AKC, PAL/ILP and You
Many people have discovered the fun of teaming up with their dogs and competing in AKC Events. But, not all of those wonderful canine athletes that you see at these events are registered with the AKC. Some might be enrolled in the AKC's Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privilege (PAL/ILP), a program that allows unregistered dogs of registrable breeds to compete in AKC Performance and Companion Events, also 41 specific breeds in the FSS? Program that are eligible for Companion Events.
If you have a purebred dog that cannot be registered with the AKC and have a desire to see what your dog can do in real competition, a PAL/ILP number is your ticket to the world of AKC events and clubs!
Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privilege (PAL/ILP): The program that provides purebred dogs a second chance.
There are various reasons why a purebred dog might not be eligible for registration. The dog may be the product of an unregistered litter, or have unregistered parents. The dog's papers may have been withheld by its breeder or lost by its owner. Sometimes, it is the dog itself that was "lost." There are many dogs enrolled in the PAL/ILP program after they have been surrendered or abandoned, then adopted by new owners from animal shelters or purebred rescue groups. The PAL/ILP program allows the dog and owner a second chance at discovering the rewards of participating in AKC events.
What AKC events may a PAL/ILP dog Participate in?
The Purebred Alternative Listing Program/Indefinite Listing Privilege (PAL/ILP) is designed to allow dogs to participate in AKC Companion and Performance Events. The AKC Events that a PAL/ILP dog can participate in are:
?Agility Trials (All Breeds)
?Earthdog Trials (Small Terriers and Dachshunds)
?Herding Tests and Trials ( Herding Breeds, Rottweilers and Samoyeds)
?Hunt Tests (Most Sporting Breeds and Standard Poodles)
?Junior Showmanship (All Breeds)
?Lure Coursing (Sighthounds)
?Obedience Trials (All Breeds)
?Rally Trials (All Breeds)
?Tracking Tests (All Breeds)
Once enrolled in the PAL/ILP program, entering AKC events is as easy as with a registrable dog. The only difference is that instead of an AKC registration number, you would list the dog's PAL/ILP number on the Entry form.
Great intiative. Thanx for including the explanation why some purebred dogs aren't eligible for registration with the AKC.
Woo-Hoo!!! The news has finally arrived - our Trinity has been granted a PAL #!!! Now she can officially compete in events in which I'm hoping she'll excel. I'm so super happy & excited! And she's ready…:D:D:D
Can someone please explain ?
BTW … Around the Hounds collar ?
