Our Basenji-Mix (only 2 vets verified, haven't DNA tested yet so bear with me..) has the same weird tail bump and I can't find evidence of it on any other dogs! So cool. She also does the frog pose alllll day long.

@debradownsouth oh!!! Yes the more we get to know her, the more I’m leaning towards basenji being correct. She’s an obsessive licker of both us and herself, and contorts her body around to lick her entire back. And oh my she can jump... it’s almost like she levitates and it takes no effort. We’re going to DNA test her in a couple of weeks, possible with Embark. I’ve heard it’s better than the wisdom panel.

@debradownsouth well it wasn’t a breeder luckily, it was just a shelter. If no basenji, what do you think she’d be?

@zande absolutely, I don’t adopt for the breed specifically and never have. Was just curious! Our rescue border collie is the best that’s ever happened to us.

@elbrant That was my first thought but her face is SO petite and narrow, it throws me off. I'll try to take some better body pictures tomorrow!

@eeeefarm She's adorable and an odd looking little thing, she seems very submissive and sweet. That being said, I can't understand the wanting to mix the two breeds intentionally..? They seem like an unusual cross.

We pick her up after her spay tomorrow so I will update with new pictures after we’ve get her! Her body is longer and stockier than the pictures show

We are picking up our new 10 month old pup tomorrow and the shelter says she's a basenji mix. What do you think she's mixed with? We have heard possible Corgi since her chest is stocky and wider than usual, as well as her body. Her legs are also much shorter than the norm.
