Nyla has recently had these little red-looking spots (freckle looking?) n on her belly. I don't believe it is flea dirt since they are not round and black but I'm not sure? Not sure how to attach a photo to this post

@tanza is the blue coloring under the nipples normal then? that's what is scaring me the most

She is in the room with me. She has full freedom to get onto my bed as I allow it (we snuggle all night). After awhile she will come up and join and nap, some days take longer than others

Nyla just had her first heat and bled for about a month. Now her nipples are slightly swollen and I notice some light light blue shading at times. Is this normal? I see things about faking a pregnancy and stuff but should we see a vet?

Recently, my 9 month old basenji will sit by my bedroom door whinning. I'll open the door to let her roam but nothing seems to settle her. I like to shut my door to keep an eye when in night classes / watching tv to not bug my roommates. We go on 3 walks a day (15 mins each) and play plenty. Sometimes I really just do need to focus on work and I cant figure out what shes whinning for. *note having to go to the bathroom is not the cause as I will take her down and she tinkles a bit and that's it!!! Any suggestions or things to do to keep her busy? I have tried lick mats, some games, kong balls...

Is 5.5 months too young for heat? I noticed dry dark blood around her area about a week ago. She’s been more tired, much more destructive (especially in the crate—- which has never been a problem before). Sometimes picky when eating. Called the vet and have an appointment soon but I am getting so worried it’s something else. Has anyone else had a B go into heat this early?

Makes me feel much better. Overall her Health has been fine. Eats and goes to the bathroom on schedule. There’s no other signs that would concern me but just over think

I've seen some posts around this website regarding this topic but as a first-time puppy owner, sometimes I overthink and get worried something is always wrong. I noticed that sometimes my basenji will shake/shiver.

When she is falling asleep, being carried to go for a walk. I wonder if it's from being cold but my house is at 70 degrees. Do you think this is a concern for the vet?

My basenji is just about 4.5 months old.

Opinion was a very cold winter lol. Going to do some research on the area

@jengosmonkey brought up another good point about heart worm pills. Vet keeps trying to have Nyla take “trio” (? I think that’s the name)

@tanza yes. She gave one 5in1, told me to schedule the next 2 3-4 weeks apart each then get rabies and call it a day until boosters were needed!

@tanza it was, and they said she only needed 5 in 1 twice, then rabies and follow up with the needed boosters. When I go to the vet I get crazy eyes and judged when I say that’s whT I was told. Just confused on what to do!

What vaccines did you get your puppy? Feel like I'm told so many different things. Just curious. So far, we've gotten 5in1 x2.
